10 Dog Friendly Coffee Shops in ATX
Coffee and Dogs, that pretty much sums up the start of my day. Happily, my sweet Panda is
always game for a quick stop for coffee before hitting the Hike and Bike trail. I like a bit of variety in my life, so we often choose a new spot to grab a scone and a latte. Here are a few of my favorite doggie friendly coffee spots around Austin!
1. Mozarts Coffee Roasters 3825 Lake Austin Blvd, Austin, TX 78703
This well known coffee spot sports a huge outdoor deck right on the lake. In addition to the fantastic coffee roasted in house, this place holds a special place in my heart since my husband and I were engaged on the deck! Naturally, this place is one of my favorite morning stops and one that I know Panda will enjoy as well as we always make new puppy friends! Vegan options available.
2. Summermoon Coffee Shop (multiple locations)
3115 S 1st St #1b, Austin, TX 78704
One of a few coffee stops that not only has a dog friendly patio, but they don't seem to mind pups inside the cafe enjoying the company of their people. The cafe can get a little crowded, but the coffee is spectacular and always worth it. Plus, if you arrive before they sell out, you can find Tacodeli breakfast tacos on the menu! 3. Counter Culture
2337 E Cesar Chavez St, Austin, TX 78702
Vegan coffee, vegan breakfast sausage and so many other tasty all-vegan treats make this spot an amazing vegan gem in the heart of East Austin. The shop is a cute former small home, now turned cafe. The staff is extremely friendly and how can anyone resist a cruelty-free coffee and scone! Secret: around the holidays, order a vegan pie for your festivities!

4. Radio Coffee Bar 4204 Manchaca Rd, Austin, TX 78704
Since moving to South Austin in 2016, Radio has been a weekly stop for us! Not only do they have a wide variety of coffee and beer available, but Veracruz (taco truck) sits outside in among the extensive yard. Grab a seat at one of the picnic tables and enjoy the company of friends and plenty of puppy loving!
5. Jos Coffee
1300 S Congress Ave, Austin, TX 78704
Known for the famous "I love you so much" mural, this South Congress coffee hot spot sits directly among the fantastic (mostly dog friendly) retail shops along the South Congress strip. Grab a cup of coffee and cruise around the local shops, picking out your next costume party attire at Lucy in Disguise or grabbing lunch after at Lucky Robot Sushi.

6. Irie Bean Coffee Bar
2310 South Lamar Blvd, Austin, TX 78704
Irie Bean can be best described as quaint. This cute little coffee stop has a back patio, perfect for relaxing with your pooch and a cup of coffee. Most evenings, you can find live music of some sort playing on the patio. The energy level is comfortable and the staff is friendly.
7. Cafe Medici
1101 W Lynn St, Austin, TX 78703 (multiple locations)
This cute little shop on West Lynn is always a favorite. The coffee is tasty, the staff is friendly and they host a variety of lovely homemade snacks in the pastry fridge. The outdoor space is small, but if you are lucky enough to grab one of the tables, you and your pooch can enjoy some people watching and a nice brew.
8. Buzzmill Coffee
1505 Town Creek Dr, Austin, TX 78741
Buzzmill is one of those gems in Austin that while well known, is still home to mostly locals. Grab a cup of coffee and enjoy the yard with your pup. If you are lucky, maybe you will catch a glimpse of the local Austin celebrities that frequent this stop!

Coffee, breakfast tacos, beer and wine make this South Lamar stop one of our favorites in Austin! In addition to the tasty eats here, you can also step into the pastry shop next door to grab a special treat for yourself. After grab a pizza next door at Cane Rosso, also a dog friendly patio!

10. Spider House Coffee
2908 Fruth St, Austin, TX 78705
Gourmet coffee a wide variety of food and beer plus plenty of space for your pup to enjoy! The cafe opens at 11am, so a late coffee or lunch at the cafe is the perfect way to kick off your afternoon. This place hosts regular music events, so can be a bit rowdy at night, however, perfect for enjoying some puppy patio time during the day!
